Winter Practice Intensive & Competition
Our winter practice program will include supervised practice, competition lectures from Fried Music faculty, performance opportunities, a hot chocolate bar, and more!
The program culminates in a final recorded performance to celebrate the fruits of guided practice! Recordings will be automatically submitted to the competition, with winners announced by January 7.
Two divisions:
14 and up - $500 prize
13 and under - $250 prize
We will enforce a strict no phone/iPad/computer games policy!
Plus, social “undernighter” on Friday, January 2. Students can stay late with friends, play games and hang out!
(Pick up at 10pm that day.)
For classical musicians ages 7-18.

Dates: Saturday, December 20, 2024 to Saturday, January 3, 2025 (Total of 9 Days)
*No session on Sundays
5-day package: $600 $540
7-day package: $750 $675

Students can select any of the available dates between Saturday, December 20 and Saturday, January 3.

9am - Practice Plan and Presentations
10am - Individual Practice
11am - Cello/Violin/Piano technique class
12:00pm - Lunch
1 pm - Performance Classes
2pm - Individual Practice
3pm - End of Day

Competition Rules
Students will record up to seven minutes of music to present to an outside jury
Piano accompanist will be provided for string and winds students
Must submit PDF of piece for jury to info@friedmusic.com

What does competition preparation look like?
The program will include lectures from former international competition winners, performance classes, and structured hourly practice plans created with individualized supervision.
