  • Job Description: Violin Faculty

    Fried Music is looking for a classically-trained violinist to join our classical music school faculty. Applicants should be prepared for an interview with the founders of Fried Music, a performance, and teaching a mock lesson. Interested candidates should email our Director of Operations allison@friedmusic.com with a resume, bio, recent video recording of their playing, and teaching philosophy statement.

    Requirements: 

    - Bachelor's and Master’s degree in Violin Performance required. DMA preferred. 

    - Must have the ability to commute to Fried Music in Alhambra, California

    - Must be passionate about pedagogy and open to developing and maintaining a studio

    - Develop individualized curricula that challenge students technically and artistically, preparing them for professional auditions, competitions, and performances

    - Coach chamber music ensembles

    - Perform periodically in faculty concerts

    - High level of organization and communication skills

    Preferred: Applicants who have a Masters degree in Violin Performance or are working towards obtaining a DMA are preferred. Mandarin speaker a plus!

  • Job Description: Music Teacher for Early Childhood "Mommy and Me" Classes

    Fried Music is seeking a passionate and creative Music Teacher to lead our Music Sprouts team this summer and support classes for our upcoming fall semester. The ideal candidate will have a love for music, extensive experience working with children ages 5 and below, and the ability to learn, sing, and perform songs. Looking for a singer and guitarist.

    Responsibilities:

    - Lead weekly group music lessons for parents and children ages 5 and under 

    - Learn, sing, and perform children’s songs on guitar, creating age-appropriate, interactive musical experiences that encourage movement and creativity.

    - Assist in delivering fun, engaging activities tailored to young children to enhance their musical exploration

    - Collaborate with the co-teacher and staff during performances, recitals, and events

    - Utilize effective classroom management techniques to ensure a positive and safe learning experience

    Requirements:

    - BA in Music Education or Music Performance, or equivalent work experience.

    - Experience in early childhood music education, particularly with children ages 5 and below (group settings preferred).

    - Demonstrated ability to learn and perform songs.

    - Knowledge and familiarity with classical music.

    Preferred: At least 1 year of teaching experience.

    Job Type: W2

    Schedule:

    - One to two weekday morning 9:30 AM - 12PM (TBD based on instructor schedule – in the case we expand our section offerings)

    - Saturday 9:30 AM–12:00 PM

  • Job Description: Summer Intensive Practice Coach  

    Fried Music is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Summer Intensive Practice Coach to support our students during our rigorous summer program. This role is ideal for an individual with a passion for music education, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a talent for inspiring young musicians to reach their full potential. The Practice Coach will oversee student practice sessions, providing analytical feedback, fostering an organized environment, and helping students overcome technical and musical challenges in their daily practice.

    Key Responsibilities:

    - Supervise and monitor student practice sessions to ensure productive and focused work.  

    - Analyze students’ practice habits and techniques, offering tailored solutions to enhance their progress.  

    - Maintain an organized schedule of practice rooms and ensure resources are efficiently allocated.  

    - Inspire and motivate students to stay disciplined and enthusiastic throughout the intensive program.  

    - Must be available for a minimum of one full session, with priority given to applicants available for all sessions. (June 8-20; June 22-July 4; July 6-18; July 20-August 1)

    Qualifications:

    - BM in Classical Music Performance. In pursuit of an MM is a plus.

    - Passion for teaching and experience working with kids required.

    - Highly organized, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple students effectively.

    - Inspiring and approachable demeanor, with a talent for motivating students of varying skill levels.

    - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

    Position Overview

    The Fried Music Foundation is seeking a dependable, organized, and student-centered Pre-College Program Assistant to support our Pre-College Program. This part-time role is essential to the smooth operation of the program, providing both remote administrative support and in-person assistance during Saturday programming.

    About the Pre-College Program

    The Fried Music Pre-College Program is a full-scholarship, conservatory-style training program for dedicated young classical musicians ages 10–18. The program offers weekly performances, chamber music, orchestra, and academic classes within an inspiring, performance-driven environment designed to nurture artistic excellence and discipline.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Supervise and monitor student practice sessions to promote focused, productive work

    • Assist with scheduling and ensure students are in the correct locations at the appropriate times

    • Assist with scheduling coachings and masterclasses, and coordinate with faculty

    • Support program operations, including setting up rooms for chamber rehearsals and coachings

    • Maintain organized schedules for practice room usage and efficient resource allocation

    • Inspire and motivate students to remain disciplined, engaged, and enthusiastic throughout the Pre-College Program

    • Provide remote administrative and coordination support as needed

    Schedule & Hours

    • Part-time position

    • 4–6 hours per week (remote) for administrative and scheduling support

    • In-person Saturdays, 9 AM – 6 PM

    • Schedule may vary slightly based on Pre-College Program needs, with advance notice when possible

    Employment Term

    • Start Date: August 1, 2026

    • End Date: May 30, 2027 (with option to extend)

    • Saturdays begin in September with a break in December and March

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or Music Performance, or currently working toward a degree in one of these fields

    • Strong people skills and the ability to work comfortably and effectively with students ages 10–18

    • Ability to maintain a warm, supportive, and disciplined learning environment

    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills

    • Dependable, proactive, and comfortable balancing remote and in-person responsibilities

    • Experience in music programs or educational environments preferred

    • Comfortable with Slack and Google Suite
