RockoStrum: Battle of the Bands

Step into the spotlight with RockoStrum: Battle of the Bands, a 12-week course led by ArcoStrum—the 2023 Concert Artists Guild Winner and Audience Prize recipient. Students will form small bands to explore non-classical genres, arrange music collaboratively, and push beyond their musical comfort zones. Working with new artist-colleagues, they’ll make creative and logistical decisions—from naming their band to crafting performance sets—while developing skills in teamwork, leadership, and artistic compromise under ArcoStrum’s expert mentorship. The course culminates in two exciting Battle of the Bands events—a mid-session battle and a final battle—where bands share their musical creations, celebrate their collaborative journey, and compete for the audience’s vote to be crowned the RockoStrum Champion.

How the Battle of the Bands Works:
The champion will be decided through a combination of votes from two events. The Mid-Session Battle will be recorded and posted on Instagram, where each like counts as 1 point. The Final Battle will be a live performance, where each audience vote is worth 20 points. Together, these votes will determine the ultimate RockoStrum Champion.

Two Key Chances to Vote:

• Mid-Session Battle (Oct 27) – Online Instagram voting (1 like = 1 point)

• Final Battle (Dec 8) – Live audience voting (1 vote = 20 points)

• Immediately following the final battle, we’ll collect all the final points, and announce the RockoStrum Champion!

Age requirement is 13 and up.

If student is under 13 and interested, we can consider them on a case-by-case basis depending on if their level fits the program
