What is the Debut String Ensemble?
The Debut String Ensemble is an exciting opportunity tailored for young, early intermediate string players aged 16 years old and under, aiming to embark on the journey of string orchestra. Led by Dr. Ben Fried, a seasoned cellist and co-founder of Fried Music, this ensemble offers a supportive environment where group playing is not just educational but also immensely enjoyable. Participants will develop crucial skills such as listening, ensemble playing, rhythmic development, and teamwork through engaging repertoire and guided rehearsals. With Dr. Fried's expertise, members will also enhance their sight-reading abilities, encouraging them to quickly grasp new pieces.

Schedule:
The Debut String Ensemble will meet on Saturday mornings from 9:30-11:00am until the final concert on June 8, 2024.
Dates:
March 9, 2024 - June 8, 2024
The final concert will take place on June 8 at 5:00pm. Please take note that rehearsal will still take place that morning as well.
There are 12 rehearsal sessions total.
(No rehearsals on March 30 and May 25)
Tuition:
Current Fried Music Student Rate (must be taking private lessons with FM faculty): $500 for all rehearsals and the Final Concert
Non-Fried Music Student Rate: $600 for all rehearsals and the Final Concert

Q: What if my child has to miss a rehearsal?
A: As long as your child does not miss too many rehearsals and is well prepared for the ones they participate in, it is not an issue. No refunds/credits for missed rehearsals.
Q: How do I know if my child is ready for the Ensemble?
A: This String Ensemble is meant to introduce students from the late beginning to early intermediate levels to an orchestral environment. You may reach out to Ben Fried benfried@friedmusic.com directly and have your child do a placement audition, if you are not a currently taking classes at Fried Music.
Q: Where do the rehearsals and concert take place?
A: Ensemble will meet at Fried Music II on Main Street.
Q: Do you have a payment plan?
A: Payment plans may be arranged based on particular circumstances. Please email info@friedmusic.com to set one up.
