Summer Practice Intensive Program

Our 2-week (12-day) summer program sessions are tailored to each student’s concentration and artistic goals. Each session includes community engagement performances, exclusive workshops, guided practice, competition preparation, and specialized classes. The program is designed to provide a focused and fast-paced environment where students can immerse themselves in their music, benefiting from frequent performance classes and close mentorship in order to produce their highest level of work in a short period of time.

  • Our annual Summer Practice Intensive is perfect for young musicians who want to make serious progress before the school year. The Practice Intensive is designed for students who have an interest in progressing and deepening their own understanding of how to practice. Guided Practice

Practicing is difficult for any musician; it requires awareness, patience, concentration, and skills that take time and expertise to build. The importance of daily and focused practice cannot be underestimated. With plenty of time to practice and hone their repertoire, students will see their virtuosity and prowess improve exponentially. Fried Music supports the students in their practicing with staff and faculty who will give suggestions, check in on the students frequently, and answer any questions they may have.

Classes

The Summer Intensive Program is designed, not only to fast forward the student’s progress through good practice, but also to expose the young musician to a well-rounded musical education. This year, we will be offering technique classes and workshops, led by our artist faculty and/or guest artists.

Performances

Performance practice is an integral part of developing confidence as, not only a musician, but also as a person. Our intensive program will include performance classes, run by a member of our faculty. Community engagement concerts are also scheduled, for which students will receive volunteer hours. Even if the student does not feel ready at the beginning of a session, students will be prepared by the end of the session. It is recommended that students have a piece they have been working on previously to perform for this concert.
